Anatomy of the heart

The heart is a major organ of the circulatory system, involved in pumping blood around the body through large blood vessels. This muscular organ is complex and has many functions, which are all responsible for sustaining life. There are many pathologies associated with this organ and while it is significant for normal function, its failure can be fatal.
