WelcomeSEPSIS Recognition and Management for Medical Students Welcome to this e-learning module where we will be exploring Sepsis. Throughout the module we will cover what sepsis is, who it affects and how to recognise the signs and symptoms of sepsis in a deteriorating patient. We will apply what we have learnt to a simulated patient scenario and briefly cover how to escalate patients to seniors as well as the management of sepsis in a clinical setting. It is expected that you will already be familiar with an A-E assessment for this e-learning, if you need to remind yourself of how to carry out an A-E assessment please visit the following pages: The Resuscitation Council UK and Geeky Medics During the scenario you may find it useful to have a pen and paper to note down your findings and organise your thoughts or you can use the text box on the right of the screen. This should take around 30 - 60 minutes to complete and there is an index at the start should you need to refer back to a specific section.
